Training School in 2024 “Methods for conducting media and policy analyses”
The COST Action offers primarily young researchers and innovators (PhD +7 years) the to facilitate capacity building on a topic relevant to the theme of the DIGI-net through the delivery of intensive training on a new or emerging subject. This takes place in a Training School, where trainees have the opportunity to meet up with more experienced colleagues and stakeholders in order to exchange on their current and future research projects
We are pleased to announce the second DIGInet training school with the topic: Methods for Conducting Media and Policy Analyses. It will take place from the 24th to the 26th of April 2024 in Bratislava, Slovakia and on the 24th of May 2024 online.

Knowledge synthesis and systematic literature reviews

This takes place in a Training School, where trainees have the opportunity to meet up with more experienced colleagues and stakeholders in order to exchange on their current and future research projects
We are delighted to announce that Training School 2023 ‘Knowledge synthesis and systematic literature reviews’ took place in Iasi at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University during 29 – 31 March 2023 (face-to-face/hybrid), and we were thrilled to have such diverse participation from all over the world.
The coordinator of the Training School, Dr Jim Ogg, received 45 applications from 21 men and 24 women and selected 22 for face-to-face training and 10 for online training. The participants came from an impressive range of countries, including Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
Keynote speaker
Vânia de la Fuente-Núñez, Senior Consultant, Healthy Ageing, presented a lecture about approaches and methodology of literature review.
Trainers
Our trainers were international experts in their respective fields, with extensive experience in teaching and mentoring on the topics of gender equality, health, ageing and the life course.
Daniela Girleanu Soitu, Department of Sociology and Social Work, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania, trained how to prepare a proper literature review.
Clary Krekula, Professor of Social Work, Linnaeus University, Sweden dived into ‘Gendered age in work organisations -methods and results’.
Jim Ogg, Associate Researcher, Ageing Research Unit, French National Pension Fund, Paris, France highlighted ‘Issues in developing a scoping review of poverty measurement and indicator’ and ‘From research results to writing, systematic reviews and papers for journals’.
Jolanta Perek-Białas, Director of the Centre for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies at the Jagiellonian University explained ‘Challenges in doing reviews (systematic, scope) – practical hints’.
Martina Rašticová, Vice Dean for Internationalisation, Head of Department of Law and Humanity Sciences, Faculty of Business and Economics, Mendel University in Brno provided a lecture about ‘Techno stress among older workers and its measurement’.
The training school under CA21107 ‘DIGI-net’ was a great success, thanks to the amazing lectures and workshops of our trainers and the tremendous involvement of our trainees.
We hope that this training school will contribute to international academic cooperation and professional development, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our participants’ future work.
